What is Your Soccer "PLAN B" ?

You know it's funny that there are so many of us "WANNA BEES". When I say "wanna be" I mean that we all dream one day to play on soccer's biggest stage. Soccer's biggest stage is somewhere in an European top level soccer league. Have we ever taken the time to sit back and think of the what if? As an example,
"What if I don't make it to playing professional soccer? What would be of my life?" Or better yet, when do we come to that realization that it's time to take an alternative route and salvage the remaining years left of our lifetime? We all love this game so much that at times when watching a professional game on TV we find ourselves having an "out of body" experience and transcending to that SOCCER WONDERLAND. It's as if we're envisioning ourselves playing on that same field with the same teammates, coaches, and fans. Then we're interrupted by some sought, snapping us right back into reality, realizing that we're only watching television. As years go by and we continue to play this game that we all love so dearly, and if we're honest with ourselves we must admit that the hope of playing on soccer's biggest stage seems dimer by the day. In addition, some of us even put our hopes and dreams in the hands of some "so called AGENT" promising us some uncertain future. Due to the fact that we had not taken the time to fortify ourselves with a second skill to fall back on for survival, we're at the mercy of those so called agents, scouts, or simply some one who claims to have the soccer SUPER BLACK BOOK containing the contacts of soccer's most powerful individuals. Now, if we could fast forward to 20 something years from now when that dream had long faded away and as we sit and chat with our child, grandchild, nephew or niece, and they ask us " if you had the chance to relive your late teens and twenties, what would you do different?, what would you say then?" Listen, soccer is a game that has been around long before our generation and will remain here way after we're gone. There are so many ways to utilize this gift that we've been bless with then just wasting our life away waiting for this one or few chances. Have we ever taken the time to sit and think "hmm..... so if just one player on a team is making 8 million a year, I wonder how much is the teams' owner making?" Most of us dream of living wealthy doing what we love. My fellow soccer enthusiast, I'm here to tell you that all our dreams can become reality with a great plan and execution. We should not limit ourselves to only focusing on being a professional player, which only last for a couple of years until the orginazition finds a younger talent to replace us. Like our talent, EDUCATION is another asset that nobody can take from us. As we work hard and wait for this big break, let's use our time wisely by continuously educating ourselves, be it a 4yr college degree or a technical skill. Listen.... telling the story of "from rags to riches" is only fun when you're successful. Remember, everybody on this earth has a time limit, and at the very second we're born our count down begins. Even though it's unknown as to when our time is up, we all hope for an extended stay as long as possible. So with that hope that we all have, we all know that everybody who is young will become old. I pray that at our old age we will look back at our life time and be proud of our time well spent.
