Stay cool and never Retaliate During a Game. At least not right away. LOL!!!

UEFA suspends Wayne Rooney (England) for the next three England Euro 2012 matches after this intentional kick to Miodrag Dzudovic (Montenegro).  Looking at the video of the incident, a viewer can clearly see that Wayne Rooney a 5ft 9 inches tall striker had no chance of winning the ball away from Miodrag Dzudovic a 6ft 6 inches center back.  The video clearly showed that the harder Wayne Rooney tried to win the ball the more he was hurting himself, so out of frustration he decided to take a wack at the right leg of the Montenegro gaint. Now his entire team will suffer as the result of this stupid act.

Looking at this incident from a striker's perspective, I will say that I do understand Rooney's frustration and retaliation.  As a striker, we at times have games when the defenders/ opponents are having the best of us (pushing, pulling, nicking at our ankles, talking trash, winning the game, ect;) while the referee thinks it's all fair play.  But, over my soccer years I've learned that if I've decided to get even and return the favor, it was best to do it later during the game and or when the referee wasn't looking.  Ironically, I tend to forget and end up focusing on winning the game.  By the end of the game, I'm usually grateful for the battle.  That's why it's call a "SOCCER COMPETITION", if it was always easy I wouldn't be playing it.  Just a little advice to the "hot-head" soccer players .
